Fundraising Safety

Good Day,

We have been informed by local businesses and community members that they were solicited by groups claiming to be fundraising for the Southold School District. As a school district we do not engage in fund raising activities such as these.

Our teams and extracurricular groups do engage in fundraising at times. Please verify that any fundraising is legitimate by asking specific questions. We recommend you do not donate to any group that you can not definitively verify.

Dear Southold Families,

I hope you are enjoying all the advantages that summer in Southold has to offer! 


The beginning of a school year presents students with opportunities for growth, adventure, and new experiences - a fresh start!


Here are some important upcoming events and dates:


  • Student schedules will be available on the Student Portal of eSchool Friday, August 15th. If you have any questions, please contact your guidance counselor. Listed below are the caseload breakdowns by last name:

  • 7th Grade Student and Family Orientation will take place on Tuesday, August 26th at 6:00pm in the District Auditorium.


  • Senior Portraits are scheduled for Wednesday, August 20th. Lifetouch has mailed home appointment brochures. Senior Portrait Retakes are scheduled for Wednesday, October 29th.


  • The first day of school is Tuesday, September 2nd.


  • The first day of BOCES Programs is Thursday, September 4th. 


  • Grade 7 - 11 School Photos - Tuesday, September 16th


  • The Student Club Fair - Wednesday, September 17th and Thursday, September 18th


  • Open House - Thursday, September 18th at 6:30pm.


  • Commencement for the Class of 2026 will take place on Saturday, June 27th at 11:00am.


Supply lists can be found on the Southold Junior-Senior High School website, under the School Information tab.


In compliance with New York State’s Distraction-Free Schools policy, students will be required to keep cellphones or other non-school issued internet enabled devices in their locker throughout the school day. The only approved device is a school-issued Chromebook. Students may retrieve their devices when leaving campus for lunch or dismissal.  All students will be provided a school issued lock on the first day of school.
