Fundraising Safety

Good Day,

We have been informed by local businesses and community members that they were solicited by groups claiming to be fundraising for the Southold School District. As a school district we do not engage in fund raising activities such as these.

Our teams and extracurricular groups do engage in fundraising at times. Please verify that any fundraising is legitimate by asking specific questions. We recommend you do not donate to any group that you can not definitively verify.

Dear Southold Families,


Welcome to Southold Junior-Senior High School!


Middle school is a time of growth, discovery, and wonder. I hope that you will join me in encouraging our new 7th grade students to take advantage of every opportunity our school has to offer.


On Tuesday, August 26th at 6:00pm, we will host our 7th Grade Orientation.


  • 7th Grade Orientation (Families and Students)

  • Introduction of our Middle School Faculty and Administration

  • What is Middle School?

  • Arrival to school and use of lockers

  • Interpreting and following a typical 7th grade academic schedule

  • School rules/policies

  • Quarterly Reports, Parent/Student Portal, Final Examinations

  • School clubs/activities and athletics

  • Middle School Electives

In compliance with New York State’s Distraction-Free Schools policy, students will be required to keep cellphones or other non-school issued internet enabled devices in their locker throughout the school day. The only approved device is a school-issued Chromebook. Students may retrieve their devices when leaving campus. Students will be provided with their locks during orientation.  Locker assignments can be found on your child’s schedule, which will be available on Friday, August 15th.
