September 11, 2025 - Patriot Day

Posted Date: 09/11/25 (08:00 AM)

September 11, 2025

Good Morning,

As you may be aware, today marks 24 years since the attacks of September 11, 2001.

For most Americans, it is a day of complicated emotions as we recall the tragic images and remember loved ones lost on that day. We also recall the spirit of unity and compassion that bound us all at that time.

We remember the heroes who rose up, the neighbors who reached out, and those countless moments when the ties of family, community and country - felt stronger than ever.

We are reminded of the patriotic pride and resilient American spirit that shined that day.

September 11th, also known as Patriot Day, is a National Day of Service and Remembrance. It is a way to pay tribute to those who were lost and to honor the heroes who answered the call to serve on that day and in the weeks and months that followed.

While we honor our heroes with thoughts and prayers, let us also honor them with action.

The purpose of the day is to create a lasting and forward-looking legacy - annually rekindling the spirit of service, tolerance and compassion that unified America and the world in the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks.

I encourage all of you to reach out and offer assistance.  Think about ways that you can be an active participant in our school and community, giving of yourself so that you may help others in need and make this world a better place. Let us honor the victims of 9/11 and reaffirm the strength of our nation with acts of service and charity

Please join us in a moment of silence at 8:46am to correspond with the moment American Airlines Flight 11 struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center.

Make today, and the days to come, worth it.

Sincerely,

Dr. Terence P. Rusch
